So I took a brief hiatus from posting on here....I know, I know, how terrible of me. But it was Christmas after all. Besides I was in Ireland and nothing much was going on except a whole lot of drinking and eating, more drinking, more eating....you get the picture. I almost posted a few times but then I was busy, drinking and eating. Oops.
| The first thing I saw on arrival at Narita airport. Awh. |
Anyway i'm back! After a 14 hour flight, 5 hour layover, 2 hour bus journey and a 30 minute cab ride, I made it. The first thing that hit me when I got here - it is cold, seriously cold. But I like it, maybe it is my jet lagged frame of mind but is bright, fresh and makes a change from all the rain I experienced for the past three weeks. Oh Irish weather, will you ever learn.
In other news, a piece of tuna sold for 1.34 million euro (155.4 million yen) today in Japan. Before you ask, yes, I typed the amount correctly. Ok so it wasn't just a piece (it weighs 222kg) but still. That is a record smashing amount of money to pay for fish. Even the guy who bought it said so, to quote Mr. Kimura (restaurant owner), he said the price was "a bit high," but that he wanted to give Japan a "boost".

| Hmm I dont think he'll be running out of fish any time soon. |
P.S Happy New Year to you all. May it bring peace, joy and happiness to all. Fortunately, I decided not to start my resolution until I got back to Japan. I wonder how long it will last; did you make any?

Traveling is terrible. I often say it' snot the flight but the connections that make it so. Glad you enjoyed the holidays anyway.
ReplyDeleteThank you - I sure did but i'm also very glad the trip back is over too. Did you both stay in Japan?
DeleteThanks again for reading.
